About Dotty Anderson

Dotty Anderson writes stories for middle school age and young adults with the purpose to both entertain and educate. She holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She is the grandmother of five school age boys.

She has traveled extensively. Her story writing began after a 2014 trip to Iceland where she learned that some Icelanders still believe elves live hidden within the island’s oddly shaped lava formations. Once she returned home, she felt compelled to write about Iceland elves. The result were three Middle Grade stories: “Aldar Visits America,” concerns the problem of school bullying; “Aldar and the Leprechauns” concerns immigrants facing racism and prejudice; “Aldar and the Golem of Prague,” is an adventure tale where the little elf travels through Europe and learns about other cultures and people.

These were followed by “How Michael Saved the Bosites and Everyone Else,” a Middle Grade humorous science-fiction story that takes a timid Irish lad into another dimension populated by temperamental little human-like creatures called Bosites.

Her latest book “The Search for the Rafaeli Necklace” is a young adult story that takes a 17 year old girl on a dangerous adventure through Northern Italy. Its overall theme concerns the destructive power of guilt and healing power of human forgiveness.

      Hi Larry,
I attempted to reply, but I am not sure if it got through. So forgive me, if I repeat: Your website is terrific and well as your book promotion video . I enjoyed the Iceland video. I was wondering who prepared the video promo for you and if it has been an effective way of marketing your book. Best of luck to you.

Hi again Dotty, I did all the videos myself. I installed Nero and Storyline and taught myself how to use them. They’re not hard, but it does take a little time to learn how to work them so you end up with a decent finished product. That’s the way I am. If I don’t know how to do something, I take the time to read instructions and get things done. That’s why I know how to do so much stuff and am a smart SOB like my book says…lol.
